Mulch Does More Than Look Good
Clean beds, suppressed weeds, and a polished property that looks like someone is paying attention.
Fresh mulch changes everything
A well-mulched bed protects your soil, supports your plantings, and instantly elevates the look of your entire property. We carry a full selection at our Newburgh garden center including natural hardwood, cedar, and dyed options in black, brown, and red.
Weed suppression
A proper layer of mulch blocks sunlight from reaching weed seeds, dramatically reducing the number of weeds that take hold in your beds throughout the season.
Moisture retention
Mulch slows evaporation from the soil surface, helping your plantings retain the water they need during hot, dry stretches without constant supplemental watering.
Soil temperature regulation
Mulch insulates roots from extreme heat in summer and rapid freeze-thaw cycles in winter, keeping soil temperatures more stable and reducing plant stress year-round in southern Indiana.
Polished appearance
Fresh mulch gives your beds a clean, finished look that makes the entire property feel intentional and well cared for. It is the single fastest way to refresh your landscape.

Why this is different from a quick mulch dump
Your mulching crew brings the same plant knowledge that stocks a 15-acre garden center. That expertise shows up in every bed they touch.
Proper depth by bed type
Your crew applies 2 to 3 inches in standard beds and 3 to 4 inches around trees. Every bed gets the right amount based on what is growing there.
Edge-to-edge coverage
Mulch is spread evenly with clean edges along turf lines and hardscape. No thin spots, no piles against stems, no mulch volcanoes around trees.
Bed prep before mulching
Every bed is weeded, edged, and cleared before mulch goes down. Prep work first means the mulch does its job and beds stay cleaner longer.
What complete bed care looks like
Mulch is the foundation. But keeping your beds looking their best year-round takes ongoing attention. Here is what your crew handles between mulch applications across Newburgh and the Evansville area.
Seasonal weeding
Weeds are pulled by hand and treated at the root throughout the growing season to keep beds clean and protect your plantings.
Bed edge maintenance
Crisp, defined edges along every bed border keep grass from creeping into planting areas.
Plant health checks
Your crew monitors plantings during every visit for signs of disease, pest damage, or stress and flags problems early.
Debris removal
Fallen branches, spent blooms, and leaf litter are cleared regularly so your landscape always looks maintained.
Mulching pairs perfectly with these services
Fresh mulch is the finishing touch on a well-maintained property. Combine it with pruning, fertilization, or seasonal cleanup and your landscape stays polished from spring through fall.
Shrub & Tree Pruning
Freshly mulched beds look even better when your shrubs and trees are properly shaped and maintained.
Fertilization & Weed Control
Combine mulching with a fertilization program to keep both your beds and your turf looking their best.
Seasonal Cleanup
Pair your mulch application with spring or fall cleanup for a complete seasonal refresh across your entire property.

Mulching and bed care questions answered
What types of mulch do you offer?
We carry hardwood, cedar, and dyed options in black, brown, and red at our Newburgh garden center. Your crew can recommend the best type for your beds.
How deep should mulch be?
2 to 3 inches for most beds, 3 to 4 inches around trees. Going deeper than 4 inches can trap moisture and suffocate roots.
How often should mulch be replaced?
Most beds benefit from a full refresh once per year in spring, with a light top-off in late summer if needed.
Should old mulch be removed before adding new?
Usually no. Decomposing mulch adds organic matter to soil. Your crew checks depth and only adds what is needed to reach the target.
Do you include bed care in a full property plan?
Yes. Mulching and bed care are included in our Full-Season Management plan alongside mowing, fertilization, pruning, and cleanup.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Newburgh, Evansville, Boonville, Chandler, and the greater Tri-State area.
