A real pool. Even in a small yard.
You thought your yard was too small for a pool. These four compact shells prove otherwise. Under 200 square feet, installed in days, and perfect for cocktail parties, cold plunges, or a personal retreat you never thought you could have.
Small footprint. Real pool. No compromise.
You do not need a big yard to get a real in-ground pool. These fiberglass shells install in days and fit spaces that most pool builders would walk away from.
If you have been told your yard is too small for a pool, a plunge pool changes that conversation. These fiberglass shells are engineered, warrantied, and installed like any other in-ground pool. They just take up less space. You do not have to settle for an above-ground tub or a stock tank.
At under 200 square feet, they fit in side yards, courtyards, and urban lots where a standard pool would never work. Use yours as a cocktail pool for entertaining, a cold plunge after workouts, or a heated soaking pool you enjoy year-round. The compact size makes it surprisingly versatile.
Because the shell is smaller, the installation is faster and the operating cost is lower. Less water to heat. Fewer chemicals to balance. Less surface to maintain. You get a real in-ground pool with a fraction of the upkeep.

From the original Sea Turtle to the newest flat-bottom plunge models. Each one delivers a real pool experience in under 200 square feet.

Sea Turtle
The original compact pool from Thursday Pools. Wraparound bench seating and optional therapy jets fit into a 9.5 by 19.5 foot shell. This is a real pool in a footprint smaller than most patios. It works for cocktail parties, cold plunges, warm soaks, and everything in between.
Good fit if
- Your yard is under 30 feet deep or narrow on the sides
- You want bench seating that wraps the entire interior
- You are interested in therapy jets for relaxation or recovery
- You want a pool that installs in days rather than weeks
Specs: 9'6" x 19'6" | Depth: 4'6" | ~3,900 gallons | Wraparound bench seating | Optional therapy jets

The Drift
One of the smallest fiberglass pools available. At roughly 8 feet 4 inches by 16 feet with a flat bottom throughout, The Drift gives you consistent standing depth across the entire shell. Built for cold plunging, warm soaking, or a combination of both. Step in, stand anywhere, and relax.
Good fit if
- You want a dedicated cold plunge or warm soak pool
- Your yard has a tight footprint or an awkward corner to fill
- You prefer a flat bottom with no depth transitions
- You want the smallest possible real pool installation
Specs: ~8'4" x 16' | Flat-bottom design | Consistent depth throughout | Cold plunge or warm soak ready

The Nook
The same compact flat-bottom concept as The Drift with a slightly different interior layout. At roughly 8 feet 4 inches by 16 feet, The Nook fits the same tight spaces and delivers the same consistent depth. If your priority is the smallest real pool that still feels complete, this is your other option.
Good fit if
- You want a compact flat-bottom pool with a different interior feel than The Drift
- You are choosing between the two smallest plunge shells and want to compare
- You need a pool that fits an unusually narrow or shallow yard
- You want a cold plunge or warm soak in the smallest footprint possible
Specs: ~8'4" x 16' | Flat-bottom design | Consistent depth throughout | Cold plunge or warm soak ready

The Nest
A slightly wider plunge pool with a rounded interior and bench seating. At roughly 10 by 16 feet, The Nest gives you more room to move than The Drift or The Nook while still fitting in compact spaces. The rounded shape softens the look and creates a more organic feel.
Good fit if
- You want a plunge pool with a bit more elbow room
- You prefer rounded interior walls over sharp corners
- You want built-in bench seating for two to four people
- You like the plunge pool concept but need slightly more space
Specs: ~10' x 16' | Rounded interior | Bench seating | Slightly wider than Drift and Nook models
Small pool. Smart surround. Big impact.
The right design makes a compact pool feel like a luxury feature, not an afterthought.
Compact patio designs
Plunge pools leave room for creative deck space. A well-designed patio around a compact pool can feel more spacious than a large pool with no surround. Every square foot of deck counts.
Privacy screening with tall plantings
Small pools and intimate spaces call for privacy. Tall ornamental grasses, arborvitae, or bamboo screens create a sense of enclosure and turn your plunge pool into a private retreat.
Spa-like lighting and minimalist water features
Subtle LED lighting inside the shell and a single bubbler or laminar jet are all a plunge pool needs to feel like a personal spa. Keep it simple. Let the water do the work.
“All we had was ideas drawn in pencil. Renae came out, listened to our ideas and went to work. We made a few adjustments, broke it up into two phases and now we have a wonderful back yard we absolutely love.”
